I would have to say this is my favorite version of the song thus far. It's funny, because I actually do NOT like this song at all when performed by Yes or Spock's Beard, but Glass Hammer just changed the atmosphere in a way that I think much better fits the song than even how Yes envisioned it. (Fun...

Well, if the poll was still open, I would vote for When We Were Young. I absolutely love the vocals in that song, and the synth! =)

Hmmm.... I quite like Fred's drums. They're not very complicated, but they just seem so, I don't know, "down to earth." This is in no way looking at Matt's drums negatively, though. My brother has compared his drums to Portnoy's on more than one occasion, which is a HUGE compliment, but I think I wi...

Behind the Great Beyond may perhaps be my favorite song of all time, though that, of course, is subject to change. I really agree with what you said, though, and I know originally I did not like this song at ALL! But, after a few listens, one really starts to appreciate the build-up, the VERY profou...

@Fred
Their newest album, named Spock's Beard, underwhelmed me overall, but I REALLY enjoyed the songs On a Perfect Day and All That's Left.

@Sam
I haven't listened to a whole lot of either, but less of the new stuff, so that could give me a bias.

Spock's Beard

Hey all! I was just wondering, out of preference, which era of SB everyone here prefers. I know they are at least several Neal Morse fans, so I would guess that most people like Spock's Beard better when he lead, but I'm still very curious. Personally, while I think Nick has a great voice, the excel...

Sorry for another double post, but are there any more art pieces for the album, and/or a higher resolution version of the cover? I'd like to burn a CD and make a jewel case for it, as well as a CD label, but it's kind of slim pickins' with what's available.

Just bought The Ten Toes of Trurl and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I also added the Glass Hammer THEN bundle to my Christmas list, as well as the Adventure Pack and MANY other non-Glassy albums. It'll be a long wait for them, but I think it's going to be a good Christmas this year, if I can stand no...

From what I've heard of Camel, they just didn't have enough... I don't know... "oomph" for my tastes, though perhaps that's just what I heard. That is a fair statement. Having said that, you might be intrigued by Camel's Stationary Traveller. It is a concept album about the people who tried to esca...

Oh, I DID just buy SMPT:e today, and I am thoroughly enjoying! (All I had before was Mystery Train, because FYE's listening previews were wrong and played al...

If you can track it down give UK's Danger Money a shot. A bit ELP-esque with lots of organ but more synth as well, good vocals and electric violin instead of guitar! It's mostly a pretty heavy album too for being a keyboard driven album. Skip the 1st UK album for now; it's great IMO but a bit more ...

Email Pete at the site and ask. Probably not, I'm afraid.

If you want to here something new and at the same time with a classic feel of the prog of the 70's I humbly recommend The Flower Kings. They rock hardly too! If you get any album from them, from the first to the last, just like GH, you'll find very good stuff that really hooks up. You can check on ...
