GH Fan Art Contest!

Post by Sam Gamgee » Sat Jun 05, 2004 12:06 am

Hey, let's have our very own Forum GH Fan Art contest!! Winner gets... a dance party. in the forum. For his/her hypnotic fun. (   - like that only grander scale) How 'bout it? Just for kicks - to liven things up a bit. Maybe lesser contributing members might even like to add something... *nudge nudge* ;)

NOTE: Knowing anything about art or having skill in drawing or anything is not a requirement - never stopped color-field abstractionists...

Poll now added for SERIOUS category. (I'm not missing anyone, am I?)

What kind of art you looking for? Like, is there a theme?

Yes. Glass Hammer is the theme. No further restrictions, as long as it is family forum material. :) Judged by.... People. We'll take a vote. And then the winner gets the dance party.

I guess if the theme is Glass Hammer, the art could be a piece of music!?!

Well, I have plenty of that stuff on my web site. And if people don't go there, I'll take them there! Tomorrow, I'll post one of my mp3's!

Guess you guys are out for the summer now -- not me! I'm taking 2 graduate classes this summer, fulltime job, other stuff ... so I would love to contribute, but just don't see my way clear to having the time. Bummer. Looking forward to the entries tho.

Here is my piece of creative interpretive art, combining styles from various contemporary and classical arists, emphasizing especially line and contrast with the starkness of the black and white monochromotic palette. It calls upon various themes from Glass Hammer past, hearkening back most notably to the last song from Lex Rex, "Heroes and Dragons". Enjoy!

Very nice, Sam...
Lania, very cool!

I'm working on something, I'll be done in a day or so. I would post some music, but I don't have a good recorder yet. I'm probably getting one this summer, so maybe I'll post something in a month or so...
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?

I need space!!

Post by SuperTed » Mon Jun 07, 2004 11:40 am

I've a couple of pieces for your collective perusal but my ISP is tragically bad and I can't get my FTP setup to upload to my webspace. Would one of you nice people be accommodating enough to allow me to mail you my humble contributions so that you could display them for me. I promise large amounts of cyber-ale (or even real stuff if you're over this way anytime :) ) and my unending gratitude.

Ta,

Eddie

P.S.

Jon - its Monty Python for the 21st Century!!
Lania - first class and very mellow!!
