Just for fun, if you had your pick between these three famous rock artists to do the next GH album cover - who would it be.

Uh, since there are two albums, kind of, could there be two album covers? Because Roger Dean is awesome, but maybe Travis Smith has better feel for this particular album, and I can't really decide so I don't know. I'd go for both. Yeah.

The coin flip picks Travis Smith over Roger Dean, but I too think that both are awesome. I love Dean's work, but the Shadowlands art might be my favorite album cover ever.

Oooh, I know. A collaboration between the two!

Well, since I have been inexplicably left off this list (hrumph!) I suppose it should be Travis Smith.

I like Roger Dean but his stuff is almost ubiquitous now. Let Travis have another crack at it!

Also, it means you can put that industrial noise terror epic on the new album (featuring Susie's famous death metal growl of course!) and all the metal kids will identify with the cover. Genius 8)

Yeah! I pick Ted!

Ok, the advantage to Roger Dean is, HE'S ROGER DEAN! So it might bring some more publicity to the album, and if that's so, I'd say go for it.

But I think I like Travis Smith's artwork better because it's more of the modern, on the edge type of thing that would get noticed. (Kinda like the flaming buffalo, but BETTER!) Cool album covers jump out at you, like Shadowlands does.

Then again, I haven't actually heard the album, so I don't know whether it's more of a classic retro album or further staking the boundaries of neo symphonic classical whatever you call it that you do. (But judging from some rumors of some of the people involved, Roger Dean, might fit in? ;))

I keep saying, its just for fun. We'll probably just go with a solid black cover, or a photo of my emaciated broken arm.

Yes, and Steve, you say a lot of things. I think we don't trust you very much anymore. ;)

I picked Dean, but I guess my second choice would be the artist that did Shadowlands. But hey, it's your album, and only youknow what's best for your album! :D

Steve---- don't be so depressing. :bawling:

I like the black cover idea. It's kind of like a dare. Like, how much more black can you get.

I've got to get out more.

BTW I voted Roger Dean, 'cause I'm a complete fanboy of his. As this is a just for fun exercise as you said, I think we should have had the option of at least one Renaissance painter. Look at the skull on the painting "The Ambassadors" by Hans Holbein and tell me that's not prog! (see http://cgfa.floridaimaging.com/hholbein ... in2-25.htm )
