I have a friend that would disagree with you. When I told him that I was listening to Shatner's version of 'Common People,' he replied: "As a British person I demand you somehow destroy your copy. It's an absolute disgrace to Pulp, Jarvis Cocker, and 'Cool Britannia' in general" and "There are some things that should not be messed with and 'Common People' should most definitely be on that list."

There's food for thought. I, on the other hand, didn't think it was that bad. Though I don't know if I'd want him on any GH tracks. Just imagine him doing 'Heroes and Dragons' or something: "Something has called to us... all. of. our. days. Whispering of... glory... and glorious ways." And if he attempted 'Chronos Deliverer,' I think I'd lock myself in my room and cry for months. Definitely not feeling it. Sorry, folks.

So here's my 2 cents. Jon Anderson lives nearby me (CA). You (meaning Steve and Fred) should convince him to come out there (TN) to record-then he can give me a lift.

Jarvis Cocker, a highly articulate, middle-class intellectual, becomes famous for singing a song about rich people not understanding the common people.

I do hope you've maintained a degree of Mayoral decorum and not descended into going "Ablah..Ablah..Ablah" over the phone like I probably would... :)

You may all have heard songs from the Jon and Vangelis album. A little analysis of the name of the band begs the question 'Jon is his first name, Vangelis is his second name, why the difference?'

The reason is that Vangelis' first name is Papathanisou. :)

P.S. I'm blown away with this news. Yes singing on GH is a full circle of progificence. Well done GH!!!

I honestly cannot choose between Neal Morse and Glenn McLaughlin from Iluvatar. Glenn is a buddy and one of my favorite singers, and I think he'd be beyond thrilled to do it! I love Neal and have thought for a long time that he should get together with GH, but I adore Glenn too. There are a lot of great choices on this list.

I would actually vote against Jon Anderson tho ... I feel like I hear him every time I turn on a prog station (well, except ours of course ;) )

There is, however, one glaring omission ...

William Shatner ;)

I don't really like the Spock's beard guy. Those songs...... are..... not appealing to me. Hehe.

Hehe, and I've never liked Jon Anderson really.
