The Complilations 1996-2004

Once again, Glass Hammer has made the great Sam Karnick's short list of the best prog albums (for 2006-2007).

Just bought it recently, and I'd have to say that I LOVE A is A, as well as Morning Song (that piano at the beginning really enticed me), the symphonic version of Heroes and Dragons, and In The Court of Alkinoos. This album really surprised me, honestly, in a good way, of course! If any of GH's older stuff (On to Evermore back) sounds anything like this, I think I'll really enjoy it, regardless of others' opinions. Thanks for releasing such a great compilation guys!

Yeah, I actually think this is one of our more consistently good albums and it was never even meant to be an album *lol*

How are the songs on the album arranged? I was guessing they were arranged in order of release, but I really don't know. If that's so, then that means you guys were playing live when I had just been born! So weird to think about...

This is a very charming collection of songs, indeed!

I'm usually not that interested in live recordings (I like live DVDs but not live CDs), however, the two on this album are really impressive. GH seems to always play their songs flawlessly.

And of course, Alkinoos alone makes buying the Compilations worthwhile. I love everything about it. I can only dream about an entire album that sounds like this song. That would be divine! Yes, they have come close to this sound at certain parts of other albums, but as a whole, Alkinoos just has a completely original...personality, I guess.

For me, Alkinoos is the pinnacle of songwriting, perfomance, talent, and lyrics in a GH song
